This place is amazing!! It was my first time in here today and I had no clue as to what to expect. I ordered the famous howling wolf burrito as well as some chicken taquitos. I couldn't help but eat and savor every last bite! The service was just as great as the food itself. Rafael and his kitchen people did an amazing job making sure I was happy and comfortable for my first experience here! Definitely will be back 5/5 stars

Was just okay. Stopped in for some quick take out.
I got a burrito bowl with chicken. Everything was fresh and a decent portion too.
Flavors- not much stood out in terms of bold Mexican flavors.
The food was good, and healthy too. Not very memorable. -

This is not Mexican food, but I get mine Togo and Doctor it up at home.
I add salt and pepper first, they don't season with layers of flavors as they cook their food so it's difficult to correct.
Nothing is spicy, not even the tomatillo sauce they claim is spicy. I add chipotle in Adobo sauce over the enchiladas, top with cotija cheese and pop in the oven.
Top with finely diced onion, roasted jalapeños and cilantro, with a drizzle of sour cream and sliced avocado.
I also season the chewy rice with salt, cumin, cholula sauce and a pad of butter. Top with scallions and pop in the oven so it's not so underdone the way they serve it, and it comes alive with flavor and softens.
The refried beans are decent, void of lard.
I season with salt, add a little bacon grease and heat through.
The carnitas are watery and mushy, likely done in a crock pot so I never order those.
True carnitas should be cooked for hours in whole milk, Coca Cola and OJ, then broil the chunks before serving (in tack) to have a crisp exterior and stringy pulled pork consistency inside and topped with sauce. My secret sauce, lol.
It's a start!
Better than Chipotle but not authentic or spicy... totally expected in the NE. -

I've become a regular at Howling Wolf. I like the concept of this place - fast casual Mexican-inspired food with a full bar. It's a nice place to hang out at the end of the day.
The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. I like that the bar is smaller and less chaotic compared to somewhere like the Ninety-Nine, and that they're open a little later than most places in town. That's the downside of smaller towns like North Andover - almost everywhere is closed by 9:00pm most days.
My go-to is a quesadilla with carne deshabrada (spicy shredded beef) with a side of guacamole. The tortilla gets a bit greasy, but otherwise it's hearty and satisfying, especially with a margarita. The guacamole is fresh and flavorful.
The bartenders are very courteous and friendly, which is one of the reasons I'm here once or twice a week. The drink prices are pretty good too. You can get a margarita for as little as $7.00.
They also offer online ordering and delivery in case you want to get food to go, but personally this is one place where I always prefer to dine in. All-around a great place. -

Food was delicious... I had the shrimp burrito and my partner in crime had the Howling Wolf Buritto... both were fantastic.
Fresh ingredients, quick service.... the shrimp were seared to perfection and the Howling Wolf Buritto had a great sauce on it. Would strongly recommend. Hidden gem. Will definitely go back again soon. (North Andover location!!! 5 stars and then some!)
